Autism may cause a full spectrum of symptoms from serious, pervasive developmental delay to mild autism indications of difficulty adapting to the environment and sensory sensitivities. Mild autism symptoms may meddle with the child's ability to relate to peers.

Asperger's syndrome is a moderate form of autism that has a unique set of symptoms. These children may be able to communicate verbally and nonverbally as other children their age. However , Asperger's symptoms can include difficulty making chums, hypersensitivity to sound and smell, emotional connections to objects instead of folks, difficulty regulating emotions, and narrow focus.

Some children with Asperger's syndrome have psychological retardation while others could be intellectually presented. Folk may question whether the children with Asperger's syndrome who are intellectually gifted have any difficulty with autism. The children can be high working and excel in teachers. But many of these children battle with nervousness, behaviour issues, emotional detachment, and other symptoms related to autism.

Not all moderate forms are autism fit into the class of Asperger's syndrome. An autistic child could have mild symptoms. The leading indications of some children with autism improve with age and treatment. Common treatments for autism include medicines and care. The care is individually customized to meet the precise wishes of the autistic child.

Children with autistic dispositions think and process information differently than other children. An autistic child usually has an easier time processing visible information than auditory info. Therefore , folks and teachers might have more success using visible aids and hands-on activities than discussions.

Many children with all levels of autism have problems with food. Some children with autism are hypersensitive to smell and texture. Each autistic child could have unique rules about eating. An autistic child may eat only if the food is on a specific plate or in a bowl. The child might refuse to eat specific foods because of the shape or colour of the food.

Autistic children often target one area of interest. When the child have an intense interest in a specific subject, the child may learn a good deal about that subject. The interest can be almost any possible subject. One child with Asperger's syndrome had a strong interest in almost all things Japanese although the family had no connections to Japan or Japanese culture.

Some individuals consider this concentration on a subject as a strength or advantage of autism. The interest might be so intense that the child refuses to study other stuff. Some parents and teachers have been able to use the interest as a method to reward the child for completing schoolwork or other activities that are not related to their favourite subject.

Children with milder autism may succeed academically and graduate high school and school. Some universities have supports for those with autism. When the teen is good to go to university, the folks, teachers, and child could have established a collection of tools to help the child continue to gain goals and excel in educational pursuits.
